Be The Hero
I think the fairy tales of old have us. Majorly and completely failed us. We were taught through movies and stories that magically a prince would wake us up from our sleepy coma and we would instantly fall in love and live happily ever after.
Only recently with some of my newer favorite girl-power stories (Moana, Mulan, Wonder Woman), are girls starting to kick-butt and save themselves. And a new tale of self-starting, adventure, and ownership is being birthed into modern consciousness.
Today marks the new moon in Leo and this Leo season has me thinking a lot about heroism. The energy of fiery Leo is deeply creative, heart-centered, courageous, and a leader. What does it mean to be the hero of our story? Where am I owning that place of empowerment, where am I misusing it, and where is it lacking?
I think this question too can help distill things further: where is life happening to us and where are we happening to our lives? Because if we have a prince charming in our lives - that's great, but it's not everything. We still play the starring roles of our lives whether we want to admit responsibility or not.
The truth of the matter is you get to write the story of your presence and your future and determine if you want to release any burdens of the past. The title of "hero" is all yours for the claiming.
So what are you waiting for?
